Lets make a cron-job system based on MySQL. Since our authentication is MySQL based why not cron? This would make it easier to manage things.

It would be cool to have email on Nonlogic. Why not write our own python-based SMTP server. We could use D-Bus to make a multi-program server. There would be a server that actually accepted new SMTP connections and did most of the heavy lifting. We could also make another program for mail storage and sending email, the server would send it’s requests to these programs over DBUS. If there was no incoming our outgoing mail that still needed processing these programs could automagically quit and DBUS would ensure a copy was running when they were requested.

An IRC bot that runs on our servers, providing stuff like server status, uptime, and load to people in the ##nonlogic channel. It’d also be useful for notifying staff about high resource usage or malicious activity/intrusions (through nlids)

I think that the empathy buddy icon should be the same as the icon that is used in GNOME if you set on in System→Preferences→About Me. This would make the GNOME desktop even more integrated!

Offer git and darcs repositories with a web frontend (eg. cgit for git). Together with svn and hg nonlogic would offer 4 of the better known vcs’s. And I like git

Create an API that would allow users to interact with their home directory, change their bio, post/read support tickets, work with their SVN repos, change groups on the wiki, and more. Add some tasks to the task list to have people create API Client Libraries in their favourite languages (PHP, Ruby, Python, Perl, etc).
